The Maldives National University achieves global quality accreditation from the UK Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA)

 

On October 2023, The Maldives National University passed the QAA’s rigorous process on International Quality Review.

The Maldives National University (MNU) is proud and delighted to announce its attainment of global accreditation from the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA), the United Kingdom’s independent authority renowned for ensuring quality in higher education worldwide.

While it is mandatory for all UK universities to undergo evaluation by the QAA, international universities can voluntarily undergo their evaluation- the International Quality Review (IQR) to attain QAA’s accreditation.

This prestigious global accreditation is valid for a five-year period, and has been conferred upon international institutions that successfully meet the exacting criteria of IQR. The IQR benchmarks global institutions against international quality assurance standards as delineated in Part 1 of the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG).  In addition, this accreditation fulfils the requirement to become a full member of the QAA.

This comprehensive and rigorous evaluation at MNU spanned nearly two years and involved a thorough examination of the University’s governance, teaching and learning methodologies, curriculum design processes, student support mechanisms and internal quality assurance protocols. Following various levels of reporting, site-visits and follow-up based on the reviewer’s report, MNU was found to be in full compliance with all 10 standards outlined in Part 1 of the ESG. In their assessment, the review team highlighted three areas of exemplary practice at MNU:

• The strong and ever-growing links with industry and other external stakeholders;
• The outreaching processes to introduce MNU to prospective students; and
• The initiatives of internal and external quality assurance mechanism.

Dr. Mohamed Shareef, Vice-Chancellor of MNU, conveyed his profound satisfaction with this outstanding achievement and wholeheartedly thanked the entire MNU community. He specifically acknowledged the vital contributions of the academic and administrative staff, as well as the students in attaining this global recognition to MNU. He characterized this significant accomplishment as the successful conclusion of a journey that commenced in 2021 signifying the commitment of MNU staff to ensure the highest quality of all its services

Further, Dr. Shareef emphasised that MNU’s delight in this outcome comes as no surprise, because ever since MNU’s inception, the dedication to upholding the quality of its services and maintaining highest international standards as per its mission, has been clear and steadfast. As such, MNU has consistently strived to make significant contributions towards the reformulation and enhancement of these quality standards at MNU.

By attaining this prestigious global accreditation, MNU affirms its dedication to delivering exceptional quality education and ensuring that it remains at the forefront of academic excellence in the Maldives and beyond. This accreditation allows MNU to become a full international member of the QAA community as well.

މަތީ ތައުލީމުގެ ފެންވަރު ކަށަވަރުކޮށްދިނުމުގައި ދުނިޔޭގެ ފެންވަރުގައި ކޮލިޓީ ކަށަވަރުކުރާ، އިނގިރޭސިވިލާތުގެ މިނިވަން އިދާރާއެއް ކަމަށްވާ ކޮލިޓީ އެޝުއަރެންސް އެޖެންސީ ފޯ ހަޔަރ އެޑިއުކޭޝަން (ކިއުއޭއޭ) އިން ދެވޭ ގްލޯބަލް އެކްރެޑިޓޭޝަން، ‘އިންޓަނޭޝަނަލް ކޮލިޓީ ރިވިއު’، (އައިކިއުއާރ) ދިވެހި ރާއްޖޭގެ ގައުމީ ޔުނިވަސިޓީއިން ހާސިލްކޮށްފިކަން އުފަލާއެކު ފާހަގަކުރަމެވެ

ފަޚުރުވެރިވުން ޙައްޤު، މި ޝަރަފުވެރި ގްލޯބަލް އެކްރެޑިޓޭޝަނަކީ ފަސް އަހަރުގެ މުއްދަތަކަށް ދެމިގެންދާނޭ އެކްރެޑިޓޭޝަނެކެވެ. އިންޓަނޭޝަނަލް ކޮލިޓީ ރިވިއުއަކީ  ޔޫރަޕްގެ ހަޔަރ އެޑިއުކޭޝަން ދާއިރާގެ ކޮލިޓީ އެޝުއަރެންސްގެ ‘ސްޓޭންޑަޑްސް އެންޑް ގައިޑްލައިންސް ފޯ ކޮލިޓީ އެޝުއަރެންސް’ (އީއެސްޖީ)ގެ 1 ވަނަ ބައިގައި ބަޔާންކޮށްފައިވާ 10 ސްޓޭންޑަޑްއަކަށް ބެންޗްމާރކް ކޮށްގެން، މަތީ ތައުލީމު ފޯރުކޮށްދޭ ބައިނަލް އަގުވާމީ މުވައްސަސަތަކަށް، ކިއުއޭއޭއިން ފުޅާ ދާއިރާއެއްގައި ހަދާ ނުހަނު ހަރުދަނާ ރިވިއުއެކެވެ. މިރިވިއު ކާމިޔާބުކަމާ އެކު ފުރިހަމަކުރުމުން ޔުނިވަރސިޓީއަކީ ދުނިޔޭގެ ފެންވަރުގައި ބަލއިގަންނަ މުވައްސަސާއަކަށް ވުމުގެ އިތުރުން، ކިޔުއޭއޭގެ ފުލް މެމްބަރަކަށްވުމަށް ޝަރުތު ހަމަވެގެން ދެއެވެ

ދިވެހި ރާއްޖޭގެ ގައުމީ ޔުނިވަރސިޓީގައި ގާތްގަނޑަކަށް ދެ އަހަރު ދުވަހުގެ މުއްދަތަށް ކުރިއަށް ގެންދިޔަ މިރިވިއުގެ މަރުހަލާތަކުގައި ޔުނިވަރސިޓީގެ ހިންގުމުގެ ސިޔާސަތުތަކާއި، ކިޔަވައިދިނުމާއި އުނގެންނައިދިނުމުގެ އުސޫލުތަކާއި، މަންހަޖުތައް ފަރުމާކޮށް މުރާޖައާ ކުރުމުގެ އުސޫލުތަކާއި، ސްޓޫޑެންޓް ސަޕޯޓްއަށް އަމަލުކުރާ މެކޭނިޒަމްތަކާއި، ޔުނިވަރސިޓީގެ އެތެރޭގެ ފެންވަރު ކަށަވަރުކުރުމުގެ އިންތިޒާމުތައް ހުރީ ރަނގަޅު ފެންވަރެއްގައިކަން އެފަރާތުން ފާހަގަކުރިއެވެ. މިރިވިއުއަށް ޔުނިވަރސިޓީއިން ހުށައެޅި ސެލްފް އިވެލުއޭޝަން ޑޮކިޔުމަންޓަށް ބިނާކޮށް ކިއުއޭއިން އިތުރު މައުލޫމާތު ސާފުކުރުމަށްފަހު، ޔުނިވަރސިޓީގެ ކެމްޕަސްތަކަށް ޒިޔާރަތްކޮށް މުވައްޒަފުންނާއި، ދަރިވަރުންނާއި، ޔުނިވަރސިޓީގެ މަސްލަހަތުހުރި ފަރާތްތަކާއި ބައްދަލުކޮށް ތަފާތު ހެކިތައް ހޯދިއެވެ. މިމައުލޫމާތައް ބިނާކޮށް ކިއުއޭއިން އެކުލަވާލި ރިޕޯރޓުގައި ފާހަގަކޮށްފައިވަނީ، ދިވެހި ރާއްޖޭގެ ގައުމީ ޔުނިވަސިޓީއަކީ އީއެސްޖީގެ 1 ވަނަ ބައިގައި ބަޔާންކޮށްފައިވާ 10 މިންގަނޑުގެ ތެރެއިން ހުރިހާ  މިންގަނޑަކަށް ފުރިހަމައަށް ފެތޭ ޔުނިވަސިޓީއެއްކަމަށެވެ. އަދި މިރިޕޯރޓުގައި ދިވެހި ރާއްޖޭގެ ގައުމީ ޔުނިވަސިޓީގައި ނަމޫނާ ގޮތެއްގައި ޢަމަލުކުރާ ތިން ކަމަކަށް ވަނީ އަލިއަޅުވާލާފައެވެ. އެއީ

ޔުނިވަސިޓީއިން ސިނާއީ ތަފާތު މަސްލަހަތުވެރިންނާ އެކު ބާއްވާ ބަދަހި، ކުރިއަރަމުން އަންނަ ހަރުދަނާ ގުޅުންތައް؛

ޔުނިވަސިޓީއާ އަލަށް ގުޅެން ޚިޔާރުކުރާ ދަރިވަރުންނަށް ޔުނިވަރސިޓީ ތަޢާރަފް ކުރުމަށް ހިންގާ ހަރަކާތްތައް، އަދި

ޔުނިވަސިޓީގެ ފެންވަރު ކަށަވަރުކުރުމުގައި އިސްނަގައިގެން ހިންގާ ޔުނިވަރސިޓީގެ އެތެރޭގެ އާއި ބޭރުގެ މަސައްކަތްތައް

ޔުނިވަރސިޓީގެ ވައިސް ޗާންސެލަރ ޑރ.މުޙައްމަދު ޝަރީފް ވަނީ މި ކުލަގަދަ އަދި އުއްމީދީ ކުރިއެރުމާ މެދު ނިހާޔަތަށް އުފާކުރާކަމާއި މިއީ، މުޅި  ޔުނިވަސިޓީގެ އޭރާއި މިހާރުގެ އެންމެހާ މުވައްޒަފުންނާއި ދަރިވަރުންނަށް ލިބޭ ފަޚުރުވެރި ކާމިޔާބީއެއްކަން ފާހަގަކުރައްވާފައެވެ. ޔުނިވަސިޓީއަށް ލިބޭ މިފަދަ ބައިނަލް އަޤުވާމީ ޝަރަފު ހޯދައިދިނުމުގައި ޝާމިލުވާ ހުރިހާ ފަރާތްތަކަށް، ޚާއްޞަކޮށް މުވައްޒަފުންނާއި ދަރިވަރުންގެ މުހިންމު ޙިއްޞާއެއް މި ކަމުގައި ވާކަން ޑރ. ޝަރީފު ފާހަގަކޮށް އެފަރާތްތަކަށް ޚާއްޞަ ޝުކުރެއް އަދާކުރެއްވިއެވެ. ވައިސް ޗާންސެލަރ ޑރ.މުޙައްމަދު ޝަރީފް މިމުހިންމު އަދި ތާރީޚީ ކާމިޔާބީ ސިފަކުރެއްވީ މިއީ މި ޔުނިވަރސިޓީން ދެވޭ ހުރިހާ ޚިދުމަތެއްގައި އެންމެ މަތީ ފެންވަރު ކަށަވަރު ކުރުމަށް ވެވުނެ ވައުދެއް ޙާޞިލުކުރުމަށް ޔުނިވަސިޓީގެ ހުރިހާ ފަރާތްތަކެއް 2021 ވަނަ އަހަރު ފެށި ދަތުރެއްގެ ކާމިޔާބު ނިމުމެއްކަމަށެވެ. ނަމަވެސް ޔުނިވަސިޓީގެ ކަންކަން މިގޮތަށް ހިފެހެއްޓުމަށް ހިންމަތާ މިންނަތާ އެކު މަސަތްކަތް ކުރުން އަދީ އޮތީ ކުރިއަށް ކަން ވެސް އެމަނިކުފާނު ފާހަގަކުރެއްވިއެވެ

މީގެ އިތުރުން ޑރ.ޝަރީފް ފާހަގަކުރެއްވި ގޮތުގައި މިނަތީޖާ ދިވެހި ރާއްޖޭގެ ގައުމީ ޔުނިވަރސިޓީއަށް ލިބުނުކަމީ ހައިރާންވާން ޖެހޭ ކަމެއް ނޫން ކަމަށާއި، ސަބަބަކީ ޔުނިވަރސިޓީ އުފެދުނު ދުވަހުން ފެށިގެން މިތަނުން ދެމުންދާ ޚިދުމަތްތަކުގެ ފެންވަރު ދަމަހައްޓައި އެކަންކަމުގައި ބައިނަލްއަގްވާމީ އެންމެ މަތީ މިންގަނޑުތައް ދެމެހެއްޓުމަށް ސާބިތުކަމާ އެކު ކުރާ މަސައްކަތަކީ ޔުނިވަސިޓީގެ މިޝަންކަމުގައި ވާތީއެވެ. އެގޮތުން، ޔުނިވަރސިޓީގައި މިފަދަ ބައިނަލް އަގުވާމީ ފެންވަރުގެ މިންގަނޑުތައް އެކުލަވާލައި، އެކަންކަން ކުރިއެރުވުމުގައި ފާހަގަކޮށްލެވޭ ފަދަ ބޮޑެތި ކުރިއެރުންތަކެއް ހޯދުމަށް ޔުނިވަރސިޓީއިން ތަކުރާރުކޮށް އެކި ސިފަސިފައިގައި މަސައްކަތްކޮށްފައިވާކަން ވެސް ޑރ ޝަރީފް ފާހަގަކުރެއްވިއެވެ.

ކިއުއޭއޭގެ ހެޑް އޮފް އެކްރެޑިޓޭޝަން އެންޑް ކޮންސަލްޓެންސީ، ކްރިސް ބްލެންޑް ވިދާޅުވީ ދިވެހި ރާއްޖޭގެ ގައުމީ ޔުނިވަސިޓީއިން ގްލޯބަލް ކޮލިޓީ އެކްރެޑިޓޭޝަން ހާސިލްކޮށްފައިވާކަން އިއުލާން ކުރަނީ ވަރަށް އުފަލާ އެކުގައިކަމަށެވެ. އަދި މިމަސައްކަތް ޔުނިވަރސިޓީއާ އެކު ކުރުމަށް ފުރުސަތު ލިބުނީތީ ޔުނިވަސިޓިގެ ވެރީންނަށް ޝުކުރު އަދާކުރާކަމާއި، އެކްރެޑިޓޭޝަންގެ ހުރިހާ މަރުހަލާތަކުގައި ޔުނިވަސިޓީގެ އެންމެހާ ފަރާތްތަކުން ދެއްވި އެއްބާރުލެއްވުން ފާހަގަކޮށް، މި އެކްރެޑިޓޭޝަންގެ ކުރިއަށް ހުރި މަރުހަލާތަކުގައި ޔުނިވަސިޓީއާ އެކު މަސަތްކަތްކުރުމަށް އެފަރާތުން އުއްމީދުކުރާކަމަށް ވެސް އޭނާ ވިދާޅުވިއެވެ

މި ޝަރަފުވެރި ގްލޯބަލް އެކްރެޑިޓޭޝަންގެ ސަބަބުން ދިވެހި ރާއްޖޭގެ ގައުމީ ޔުނިވަސިޓީއިން ދެވޭ ޚިދުމަތްތަކުގެ ފެންވަރު ހިފެހެއްޓުމަށް ކުރާ މަސައްކަތްތަކުގެ ރޫހު  އިތުރަށް އާލާވެ، މިފަދަ އިންތިޒާމުތަކުގެ ތެރެއިން ކަންކަން  އިތުރަށް ހަރުދަނާކުރުމަށް ހިތްވަރު ލިބިގެންދެއެވެ. އަދި މި އެކްރެޑިޓޭޝަންގެ ސަބަބުން މި ޔުނިވަސިޓީއަކީ ދުނިޔޭގެ ފެންވަރުގައި ބަލައިގަންނަ ފަދަ ފެންވަރު ރަނގަޅު ތައުލީމެއް ފޯރުކޮށްދޭ، އަދި ރާއްޖޭގައި މަތީ ތައުލީމު ފޯރުކޮށްދޭ އެންމެ ފެންވަރު ރަނގަޅު ޔުނިވަސިޓީގެ ގޮތުގައި ދެމިތިބުމަށް ބާރަކަށްވެއެވެ.

މިރިވިއު ރިޕޯޓް ކިއުއޭއޭގެ ވެބްސައިޓުންނާއި ޔުނިވަސިޓީގެ ވެބްސައިޓުން ލިބެން ހުންނާނެއެވެ
