The Maldives National University (MNU) is the Maldives’ first and leading university, and a state-funded institution serving more than half of the country’s tertiary education population. With a proud legacy spanning 52 years, MNU has played a pivotal role in nation-building through its contributions to education, research, innovation, and human capital development.

MNU’s main campus is located in Malé, the capital city of the Maldives, with four additional campuses strategically positioned across the country to ensure equitable access to quality higher education. These include Kulhudhuffushi Campus in the North, and Gan, Hithadhoo, and Thinadhoo Campuses in the Southern atolls. In addition, the University operates more than 15 outreach centres across the Maldives, extending higher education opportunities to communities beyond its main campuses.
As a comprehensive national university, MNU offers more than 260 academic programmes across undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional levels.
