University Book Writing Grants

The Maldives National University began awarding Book Writing Grants in 2025 to support and encourage scholarly writing and publication among the university community. These grants are intended to promote the development of high-quality academic and scholarly books by providing financial support to eligible book-writing projects.

Book Writing Grants are open to:

  1. Full-time staff and
  2. Full-time students of MNU

University Book Writing Grants 2026 Call 2

The second call for the application for the Book Writing Grants 2026 is open. The opportunity is open to all MNU full-time staff and MNU full-time students who want to write and publish books.

There are three categories of book writing grants.

  1. Small Grants: amount of money awarded is up to MVR 10,000.
  2. Medium Grants: amount of money awarded is between MVR 10,001 and MVR 50,000.
  3. Large Grants: amount of money awarded is between MVR 50,001 and MVR 100,000.

All full-time staff and full-time students of The Maldives National University are eligible to apply for grant money to write books of their interest. The Book Writing Grants Committee will evaluate the proposals based on the criteria on the book grant policy.

Completed application forms, along with the required documentation, must be submitted via email on or before 23:59 hours on 17 October 2026, addressed to the Chair of the University Book Writing Grants Committee. Applications should be emailed to research@mnu.edu.mv.
