MNJR Publishes Three Issues in 2025, Strengthening Research Evidence and SDG-Aligned Knowledge Sharing

31 December 2025

The Maldives National Journal of Research (MNJR) published three issues in 2025, marking a significant year of scholarly publication and strengthening the University’s contribution to research excellence, knowledge creation, publication of data and evidence, knowledge sharing and sustainable development. Published on 31 July, 30 November and 31 December 2025, the three issues comprised a total of 35 scholarly articles spanning a wide range of disciplines and development priorities.

The research published through MNJR addressed key national, regional and international issues across good health and well-being, quality education, water security, decent work and economic growth, research and innovation, sustainable communities, climate action, governance, cultural heritage and education for sustainable development. Collectively, the publications contribute to multiple United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), while strengthening the availability of research evidence relevant to policy, professional practice, education and wider societal development.

The 2025 issues demonstrate MNJR’s role in supporting health research, education research, climate research, innovation, cultural heritage, sustainable water management, entrepreneurship, institutional accountability and evidence-based policy. By providing a public platform for scholarly research, the journal supports the dissemination of research findings and expands access to evidence across academia, professional sectors and wider communities.

Through the publication of multidisciplinary research, MNJR continues to strengthen MNU’s research ecosystem and its contribution to research capacity building, knowledge exchange, evidence-informed decision-making and sustainable development. The journal provides an important pathway for transforming research findings into publicly accessible knowledge that can support further research, professional practice, policy discussion and societal impact.
