The Maldives National University (MNU) has strengthened its commitment to continuous quality enhancement through the completion and submission of its Institutional Quality Review (IQR) Self-Evaluation Report to the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA).

The IQR process provided the University with an opportunity to undertake a comprehensive institutional self-evaluation, examining its policies, systems, practices, and performance against quality assurance expectations. The process involved reviewing institutional evidence and identifying areas of strength as well as opportunities for further improvement across the University.

Following the review, 20 recommendations were identified to support further enhancement of institutional quality. In response, MNU developed an institutional action plan to guide the implementation of these recommendations, establish areas of responsibility, and support systematic monitoring of progress.

To facilitate implementation, the University also conducted workshops to engage relevant stakeholders and strengthen understanding of the recommendations and the actions required. These activities have supported a more coordinated and evidence-informed approach to institutional quality enhancement, while encouraging shared responsibility for maintaining and improving quality across the University.

The IQR process and subsequent action planning have also contributed to MNU’s preparation for the next stages of external quality review and accreditation. By translating review recommendations into structured institutional actions, the University is strengthening its quality assurance mechanisms and reinforcing a culture of continuous improvement.
