MNU Thinadhoo Campus successfully held the MNU Job Festival 2026 on 4th and 5th June 2026 at the MNU Thinadhoo Campus Hall. The festival was conducted in four sessions, from 16:00 to 18:00 and 20:00 to 22:00 on both days.
The Job Festival was organised to connect students, graduates, jobseekers, and the wider community with employers, service providers, government offices, civil society organisations, and career guidance providers. The event created a valuable platform for participants to explore career pathways, learn about employment and internship opportunities, receive guidance on CV preparation, and engage directly with organisations from different sectors.
The opening ceremony of the festival was graced by the Mayor of Thinadhoo City Council, Mr. Saud Ali, as the Chief Guest. The ceremony was also attended by the Deputy Mayor, council members, members of the Women’s Development Committee, and representatives from participating organisations.
A total of 14 organisations and institutions participated in the festival, representing sectors such as education, banking, health, employment services, infrastructure, business development, waste management, defence and public service, telecommunications, local governance, and student leadership. Participating organisations included The Maldives National University, Bank of Maldives, VitalCare Huvadhoo, National Careers Service, Women Empowerment Association of Thinadhoo (WEAT), Road Development Corporation, Business Center Corporation, WAMCO, MNDF, Maldives Islamic Bank, Dr. Abdul Samad Memorial Hospital, Thinadhoo City Council, Dhiraagu, and Neyka.
The festival received strong public engagement, with 570 registered participants across the four sessions. The highest attendance was recorded during the third session, with 174 participants. In addition, a Career Passport was introduced to encourage student participation, and 102 students attended the festival using the passport.
Key activities of the festival included exhibitor stalls, career guidance, information sharing, a CV Clinic, mock interview guidance, direct interaction between participants and organisations, and lucky draws. The CV Clinic and mock interview corner provided practical support to students, graduates, and jobseekers by helping them improve their CVs, understand employer expectations, and build confidence for job interviews.
To make the festival more engaging and welcoming, food stalls were also arranged with the support of Business Center Corporation (BCC), adding to the overall visitor experience and creating a lively community atmosphere.
The festival also featured lucky draws and giveaways, supported by various sponsors and partners. Prizes included fuel vouchers, dinner vouchers, data packages, devices, health-related vouchers, gift cards, and other gifts. These contributions helped increase participation and added excitement to the sessions.
