A Health Promotion Event was organised by the Bachelor of Nursing Semester 8 students of the School of Nursing at MNU Thinadhoo Campus on 4th June 2026.
The event was held under the theme “Prepared Today, Protected Tomorrow” and focused on promoting awareness of home safety and basic first aid among the community. The programme aimed to encourage individuals and families to take practical steps to prevent accidents at home and respond effectively during minor injuries or emergencies.
During the event, participants had the opportunity to learn useful home safety tips and basic first aid practices. Free health screening services were also provided, including blood pressure checks, BMI and body fat percentage assessments, and blood sugar monitoring.
A Kids’ Stall was arranged to keep children engaged and entertained, while a Lucky Draw added excitement to the event, with free gifts awarded to three winners.
The event provided a valuable opportunity for nursing students to engage with the community, apply their learning in a practical setting, and promote health awareness through meaningful outreach.
MNU Thinadhoo Campus extends appreciation to the Bachelor of Nursing Semester 8 students, the School of Nursing, and everyone who contributed to making the event a successful and engaging health promotion initiative.
