The Maldives National University (MNU), in collaboration with the High Commission of Pakistan in the Maldives, today hosted a special ceremony to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan and one of the most influential leaders in South Asian history.
The event brought together students, academics, diplomats, members of the Pakistani community, and invited guests to celebrate the enduring legacy of Quaid-e-Azam and reflect on his vision, leadership, and contributions to nation-building.
The ceremony commenced with a welcoming address by His Excellency Vice Admiral (Retired) Faisal Rasool Lodhi, High Commissioner of Pakistan to the Maldives. Participants were also presented with a video documentary highlighting the life, achievements, and public service of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
A central feature of the program was a student debate session, which encouraged thoughtful discussion and the exchange of perspectives on leadership, governance, and historical developments. The debate provided an engaging platform for students to demonstrate critical thinking and public speaking skills while exploring themes inspired by the life and principles of Quaid-e-Azam.
The event was attended by senior officials of the Maldives National University, members of the diplomatic community, students, academics, and distinguished guests. The program concluded with the announcement of the debate results, the presentation of awards to participants, cultural performances, and the exchange of commemorative plaques.
Such initiatives demonstrate the continuous efforts of the Maldives National University to strengthen international relations and promote cultural understanding through educational platform.
