MNU Future Ready Series Expands Educational Opportunities for Young Learners

05th October 2026

The Maldives National University (MNU) continued its Future Ready Series (FRS) today with its second session, bringing Grade 7 and 8 students and their parents together to explore academic pathways, career opportunities, and higher education options.

The session provided young learners with an opportunity to reflect on their interests and strengths while gaining a better understanding of academic stream selection, university pathways, and opportunities for further study. Through early guidance and meaningful engagement, the series aims to support students and families in making informed decisions about their educational futures.

The Future Ready Series is designed to reach students at an important stage of their educational journey, encouraging them to view education as a continuous pathway towards knowledge, skills, personal development, and future opportunities.

As part of the initiative, FRS sessions are also conducted across MNU Atoll Campuses, with programmes tailored to focus areas identified by participating schools. By bringing students into university environments and taking higher education outreach closer to island communities, the initiative provides greater exposure to diverse fields of study and opportunities available through higher education.

The initiative contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 1: No Poverty, by addressing educational barriers that can limit future opportunities and economic mobility. It also supports SDG 4: Quality Education by promoting informed educational choices and lifelong learning, SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth by connecting education with future career opportunities, and SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities by expanding access to higher education guidance across the country.

Through the Future Ready Series, MNU continues to strengthen collaboration between schools, families, and higher education, while encouraging young Maldivians to explore their potential and make informed choices about the future.
