MNU Thinadhoo Campus marked Teachers’ Day on 5 October 2026 with a series of appreciation activities recognising the dedication, guidance, and contribution of lecturers and educators within the campus and the wider community.
The day began with a special breakfast for full-time lecturers, organised by the administrative staff, together with the presentation of gifts and a cake-cutting ceremony. The gathering provided an opportunity for staff to recognise the commitment of lecturers in educating, guiding, and supporting students throughout their learning journey.
Students also joined the celebrations by visiting their lecturers and presenting small tokens of appreciation. These gestures reflected the strong relationship between students and lecturers and provided students with an opportunity to express their gratitude for the academic guidance, encouragement, and support they receive.
The occasion was made even more meaningful through visits from members of the wider community. Representatives from the Women’s Development Committee – Thinadhoo City, nurses from Dr. Abdul Samad Memorial Hospital, Aboobakuru School, Thinadhoo School, and the Women Empowerment Association of Thinadhoo visited the campus and presented tokens of appreciation to lecturers. The Islamic University of Maldives – Thinadhoo Campus also marked the occasion with a thoughtful Teachers’ Day gift, adding to the warmth and significance of the celebration.
These expressions of appreciation reflected the strong relationship between MNU Thinadhoo Campus and the wider community, while recognising the important contribution of educators to student development and community growth.
As part of the Teachers’ Day celebrations, MNU Thinadhoo Campus also extended its appreciation beyond the campus. Staff teams visited Thinadhoo School, Rawla Preschool, Tibyan Preschool, Dreamtime MM Preschool, G.Dh. Atoll Education Centre, Aboobakuru School, and the Islamic University of Maldives to convey Teachers’ Day wishes and recognise the contribution of educators across the community.
During the visits, educators were presented with a healthy fruit cup accompanied by a heartfelt appreciation message, acknowledging their dedication, care, and role in nurturing young minds and shaping future generations.
The celebration contributes to SDG 4 by recognising teachers and educators as central to quality education, student development, lifelong learning, and the achievement of meaningful educational outcomes. Appreciation and recognition also help strengthen a positive professional culture and reinforce the importance of educators in supporting learners.
The initiative also contributes to SDG 8 by promoting staff recognition, professional well-being, motivation, and a supportive working environment. By acknowledging the contribution of lecturers and teachers, the activities encouraged a workplace culture that values dedication and professional service.
The involvement of schools, healthcare professionals, community organisations, the Islamic University of Maldives, students, and campus staff further supports SDG 17, demonstrating the value of partnerships and community collaboration in recognising and strengthening education.
Through the Teachers’ Day celebrations, MNU Thinadhoo Campus strengthened appreciation for educators while reinforcing relationships among students, staff, educational institutions, and community partners.
MNU Thinadhoo Campus extends sincere appreciation to all lecturers, students, administrative and support staff, visiting community organisations, schools, educators, and partners who contributed to making Teachers’ Day 2026 a meaningful celebration.
