MNU Thinadhoo Campus Wins Third Place in World Heart Day Inter-Office Quiz

6th October 2026

MNU Thinadhoo Campus participated in the World Heart Day Inter-Office Quiz organised by the Public Health Unit of Dr. Abdul Samad Memorial Hospital (ASMH) as part of activities promoting heart health awareness and healthy lifestyles. WDC Thinadhoo City sponsored the gifts for the competition.

The competition began with a preliminary round in which Public Health staff visited participating institutions and conducted the first stage of the quiz. Based on the results, the five highest-performing teams were selected to advance to the final round.

MNU Thinadhoo Campus successfully qualified for the final, which was held on 6 October 2026 at Dharubaaruge. Competing alongside the other finalists, the MNU Thinadhoo Campus team secured third place in the competition.

The quiz provided an engaging and enjoyable platform for participants to strengthen their knowledge of heart health, disease prevention, healthy lifestyle choices, and personal well-being. It also encouraged learning through friendly competition while bringing together staff from different institutions in a positive community setting.

The initiative contributes to SDG 3 by strengthening health literacy and awareness of cardiovascular health, prevention of non-communicable diseases, and healthy lifestyles. Increasing knowledge of preventive health can support individuals in making more informed choices about their health and well-being.

The activity also supports SDG 4 by promoting lifelong learning through an interactive knowledge-based competition that encouraged participants to expand and apply their understanding of health-related topics.

The involvement of ASMH Public Health, WDC Thinadhoo City, participating institutions, and community stakeholders further supports SDG 17 by demonstrating how organisations can contribute in different ways to public health awareness and community-focused initiatives.

MNU Thinadhoo Campus appreciates the Public Health Unit of ASMH for organising the initiative, WDC Thinadhoo City for sponsoring the gifts, and all participating institutions for contributing to an enjoyable and meaningful event. The campus also congratulates its participating team on achieving third place in the competition.
