MNU Thinadhoo Campus conducted a First Aid Session for KDM staff on 4 October 2026, focusing on strengthening basic emergency response skills, workplace safety awareness, and preparedness for common injuries and emergencies.
The session was facilitated by Aishath Sharuwath Ilyas, Lecturer from the School of Nursing. A total of 13 KDM staff members participated in the training.
Through practical guidance and demonstrations, participants were introduced to essential first aid techniques that can support safe and timely responses during injuries, accidents, and emergency situations. The session also highlighted the importance of remaining calm, taking appropriate immediate action, and seeking professional medical assistance when required.
The activity provided nursing students with an opportunity to apply their knowledge in a community setting while developing communication, teaching, and public engagement skills. For KDM staff, the training supported workplace preparedness, health awareness, and confidence in responding to emergencies.
The initiative contributes to SDG 3 by promoting health, safety, emergency preparedness, and preventive awareness. It also supports SDG 4 through practical and experiential learning for both participants and nursing students, while SDG 8 is supported through efforts to strengthen workplace safety and staff preparedness.
The collaboration between MNU Thinadhoo Campus and KDM further contributes to SDG 17, demonstrating the value of partnerships in strengthening community capacity, workplace safety, and practical health education.
MNU Thinadhoo Campus extends sincere appreciation to KDM, the participating staff, the School of Nursing lecturer, and everyone who contributed to the successful conduct of the session.
