On 12 March 2025, Dr. Abdul Sattar Abdul Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Shari’ah and Law (FSL) at The Maldives National University, participated in an international webinar titled “Intercultural Integration: Bridging Cultures and Strengthening Communities in OIC Member Countries.”

Organized by the OIC-IIUM Intercultural Integration Policy Research Team, the webinar focused on promoting intercultural understanding, recognizing cultural diversity, and strengthening social cohesion among member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

Dr. Abdul Sattar’s participation reflects the faculty’s commitment to international academic engagement and knowledge exchange on issues related to cultural integration, inclusive communities, and social cohesion.

The webinar contributes to the objectives of several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals)
