As part of the Professional Development (PD) Day organized for teachers of HDh. Hirimaradhoo School, Senior Lecturer Ibrahim Mohamed and Senior Lecturer Zahira Mohamed facilitated a session on Classroom Management and Supporting Students’ Mental Health.
The session focused on effective classroom management strategies, positive teacher-student relationships, and creating safe, inclusive learning environments. Participants explored practical approaches to managing classroom behaviour, improving student engagement, and recognizing and supporting students experiencing emotional or psychological challenges.
The session highlighted the important role teachers play in promoting students’ mental health and well-being alongside academic development. Teachers actively participated in discussions and appreciated the practical strategies shared.
The programme strengthened teachers’ knowledge and skills in classroom management and student well-being, equipping them with approaches to address diverse student needs and improve learning outcomes. The initiative also promoted collaboration between MNU and Hdh. Hirimaradhoo School, supporting continuous professional development and quality education.
