15 September 2024

Bachelor of Teaching (Primary) students studying Social Science visited the Maldives Meteorological Service as part of outreach activities beyond the campus and local climate education initiatives to gain an understanding of how weather data are collected, monitored, and analyzed.

The activity supports SDG 4: Quality Education by promoting experiential and inquiry-based learning, SDG 13: Climate Action by enhancing knowledge of weather, climate monitoring, and environmental awareness, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals through collaboration between the Faculty of Education and the Maldives Meteorological Service. The visit strengthened students’ scientific literacy and equipped future teachers with practical knowledge and strategies to integrate climate education and environmental sustainability into primary Social Science teaching.
