Measles Outbreak Response Immunization (ORI) Programme for MNU Students and Staff

The Maldives National University (MNU), in collaboration with the Health Protection Agency (HPA), is conducting a voluntary Measles-Rubella (MR) Vaccination Programme for eligible MNU students and staff as part of the national response to the ongoing measles outbreak.

The programme was officially launched by the State Minister of Health, Mr. Mohamed Rafeeq, together with the Vice Chancellor of MNU, Dr. Shenaz Adam, reaffirming the commitment of both MNU and HPA to protecting the health and well-being of the university community. The programme aims to increase immunity against measles and rubella by providing MR vaccination to eligible individuals aged 18–49 years who have not completed the recommended two-dose Measles-Rubella (MR) vaccination schedule. Participation in the programme is voluntary.

Objectives

  • To provide voluntary Measles-Rubella (MR) vaccination to eligible MNU students and staff.
  • To enhance protection against measles and rubella within the MNU community.
  • To support the national measles outbreak response through collaboration with the Health Protection Agency.
  • To raise awareness of the importance of completing the recommended two-dose MR vaccination schedule.

Target Group

MNU students and staff aged 18–49 years who have not completed the recommended two-dose Measles-Rubella (MR) vaccination schedule.

Vaccination Schedule

Campaign Period: 6–23 July 2026

Daily Vaccination Session:
Time: 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
