Dr. Rijen Shrestha, Elected Chairperson of Asia Pacific Medico-Legal Agencies

Dr. Rijen Shrestha, Assistant Professor (Forensic Pathology) at School of Medicine, The Maldives National University was elected as the Chairperson of Asia Pacific Medico-Legal Agencies (APMLA) at 14th APMLA Annual General Meeting and Conference held from 01-03 July 2026 at Hat Yai, Thailand.
 
School of Medicine is an institutional member of APMLA, a collaborative network of 50 forensic medical institutions representing 22 countries across the Asia-Pacific region. The organisation is dedicated to strengthening peer-to-peer collaboration, enhancing preparedness for mass casualty events and advancing forensic medical services to support better public health, humanitarian response and justice systems throughout the region.
