Introduction to Mentoring workshop

The Introduction to Mentoring Workshop was conducted for nurses from major healthcare institutions to strengthen their knowledge and skills in supporting nursing students and junior colleagues in clinical settings. The workshop addressed the mentor’s role, effective communication, supervision, role modelling, constructive feedback, assessment, learner support, and the creation of safe clinical learning environments. It encouraged consistent and collaborative mentoring practices across institutions. By enhancing the capacity of clinical mentors, the activity supported quality education, continuing professional development, safer healthcare practice, and stronger partnerships between MNU and healthcare organizations.

The workshop strengthened participants’ understanding of effective clinical mentoring and improved their confidence in guiding, supervising, assessing, and providing feedback to nursing students. It promoted more supportive and consistent clinical learning experiences, stronger links between theory and practice, and safer patient care. The programme also enhanced collaboration between MNU and partner healthcare institutions and contributed to developing competent future nurses.
