The Dean of the College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences (CFOS) at the Maldives National University (MNU), Dr. Ahmed Riyaz Jauharee, conducted a special session for students at the Centre for Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) Hulhumalé, highlighting career pathways and opportunities in the marine science field.

The session provided insights into the growing demand for marine experts in the Maldives and beyond. Discussions covered the diverse career options available to graduates, including roles in marine and coastal area management, environmental consulting, protected area management, and research. The session also highlighted MNU’s Bachelor of Marine Science programme, which is designed to address national needs for managing marine resources sustainably. Graduates are highly sought after by resorts and environmental agencies, with opportunities to work as Marine Environmental Officers and Marine Biologists.

The engagement forms part of MNU’s broader efforts to strengthen the connection between secondary education, higher education, and future employment opportunities, supporting students in making informed decisions about their academic and career pathways.
