MNUBS Celebrates Four Recipients of the 2025 President's Award for Special Achievement

11th November 2025

We are incredibly proud to congratulate four members of The Maldives National University Business School (MNUBS) community who received the President’s Award for Special Achievement at this year’s official Republic Day ceremony.

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu conferred the national honour on 34 recipients at the Maldives Centre for Social Education this morning. The President’s Award for Special Achievement recognises exceptional accomplishments in knowledge, skills and creativity attained through dedication and perseverance, with this year’s awards covering achievements from 2022 onwards. Among the recipients, eight attained Level 10 qualifications under the Maldives National Qualifications Framework (MNQF), twenty-three achieved the highest distinctions at Levels 7, 8 and 9, and two were recognised for top honours in international competitions and exhibitions.

For MNUBS, the moment was especially meaningful, as four of our own community were among those honoured:

  • Ms. Samhaa Mohamed Faisal, alumna of MNUBS, was recognised for completing her Bachelor of Business with the highest marks in 2024, securing first place. She is currently a Senior Tax Officer at the Maldives Inland Revenue Authority.
  • Ms. Aishath Maahaa Shafeeu, also an alumna, received the award for completing her Master of Business Administration with the highest marks in 2024, securing first place. She is currently an Auditor at the Auditor General’s Office.
  • Dr. Ahmed Ali Jaleel, a Visiting Lecturer at MNUBS, was honoured for completing his PhD in Management and Business and for publishing his research article, “Structural Equation Modelling the Interrelationships between Service Quality, Customer Satisfaction and Behavioural Intention among Maldivians seeking Medical Tourism Services,” in the International Journal of Innovation, Creativity and Change.
  • Dr. Aminath Sudha, an Assistant Professor at MNUBS, was honoured for completing her PhD in Management and Business and for publishing her research article, “Transformational Leadership and Job Performance of Maldives Civil Service Employees,” in the International Journal of Public Sector Management.

Their achievements reflect the very best of what MNUBS stands for — academic excellence, research that matters, and graduates who go on to serve their country with distinction. From the tax office to the auditor general’s office, from the lecture hall to international journals, this recognition is a testament to years of quiet dedication.

This recognition supports SDG 4 (Quality Education) by celebrating excellence in higher education and lifelong learning, with secondary contributions to SDG 8, SDG 9 and SDG 17.

To Samhaa, Maahaa, Dr. Jaleel and Dr. Sudha — congratulations. We are proud to call you part of the MNUBS family, and we wish you every success in the years ahead.
