The session focused on strengthening teachers’ capacity to design inclusive, accessible, and supportive learning environments using the principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL). Participants explored flexible teaching approaches and practical strategies for responding to diverse learner needs while encouraging active participation and engagement.
The session highlighted the importance of providing equitable learning opportunities by reducing barriers to participation and creating classroom environments where students with different abilities, learning preferences, and needs can engage meaningfully in the learning process.
The initiative contributed to quality and inclusive education by strengthening teachers’ professional knowledge and promoting learner-centred teaching practices. It also emphasised the importance of accessibility, equity, and inclusion in ensuring that all learners have meaningful opportunities to participate and succeed.
The professional development session further demonstrated the value of collaboration between the Faculty of Education and schools in promoting continuous professional development and strengthening inclusive teaching practices across educational settings.
