The Centre for Maritime Studies conducted an outreach programme for secondary school students and parents at Madaveli School during its research visit to Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll. Participants were introduced to the global maritime industry, the development of the Maldives’ maritime sector, and the education and career pathways available through CMS. The session encouraged students to consider careers in maritime professions while informing parents about opportunities available through higher education. By promoting awareness of maritime careers and expanding access to information, CMS contributes to developing the future maritime workforce and supports equitable educational opportunities across the country. The activity also strengthened the relationship between the University and local schools through meaningful engagement with students, parents, and teachers.
