The Centre for Maritime Studies organised an interactive maritime career awareness session for employees of State Trading Organization Plc (STO). Participants learned about career pathways in the maritime industry, professional certification, seafaring opportunities, and education and training programmes offered by CMS. Practical experiences shared by maritime professionals provided valuable insights into life at sea, career progression, and professional development opportunities. The activity strengthened collaboration between academia and industry while promoting lifelong learning and workforce development. It also encouraged participants to consider maritime qualifications that support both personal career growth and the continued development of the Maldives’ maritime and logistics sectors.
