The Maldives National University (MNU) Library conducted a Database Searching Session for 7 students from the Certificate 4 Foundation Studies (Science) and Certificate 4 Foundation Studies (English) programmes at Thinadhoo Campus.

The session introduced students to effective techniques for searching academic databases and locating relevant scholarly information for their studies. Participants were guided on developing appropriate keywords, refining search results, and identifying relevant academic resources.

Through practical guidance and database search exercises, students had the opportunity to apply the techniques discussed and develop greater confidence in accessing and using scholarly information for their academic work.

The session aimed to strengthen students’ information literacy and research skills while encouraging effective use of the University’s academic databases and electronic resources.

MNU Library continues to provide information literacy sessions across its campuses to support students in developing essential academic research skills.

The session supported quality education and lifelong learning by helping students produce credible academic work. These skills also prepare students for ethical professional practice and encourage academic integrity. By sharing educational resources and research skills wth students, the library contributed to the exchange of knowledge that supports partnerships for the goals.
