MNU Thinadhoo Campus proudly took part in the celebrations marking 60 years since the repopulation of Thinadhoo, joining the wider community in honouring the island’s history, resilience, development, and achievements.
As part of the celebrations, the campus prepared a special float that highlighted the journey of education in Thinadhoo. The float represented the transformation from traditional forms of teaching and learning to modern higher education, showing how education has continued to grow and create new opportunities for generations of learners.
The participation provided a meaningful opportunity for staff and students to connect with the community and reflect on the important role of education in social progress, cultural continuity, and local development. It also celebrated the shared history of Thinadhoo and the contribution of learning institutions in shaping the future of the island.
The activity promoted community engagement, cultural identity, intergenerational learning, student participation, and appreciation for local history. It also strengthened the connection between MNU Thinadhoo Campus and the wider community through active participation in an important civic and cultural celebration.
MNU Thinadhoo Campus extends heartfelt appreciation to all staff, students, and contributors who gave their time, creativity, and effort in preparing the MNU float and making the campus’s participation possible.
Happy 60th Anniversary, Thinadhoo!
