The Centre for Maritime Studies (CMS), The Maldives National University, welcomed Sheimaliz Glover, Public Affairs Officer at the U.S. Embassy in the Maldives, and Eric Christensen, Public Diplomacy Officer at the U.S. Department of State, during their visit to the faculty. The visit provided an opportunity to showcase CMS’s maritime education and training programmes, discuss the faculty’s contribution to developing a skilled maritime workforce, and explore potential areas for future academic collaboration and institutional partnership. The engagement strengthened international cooperation, encouraged knowledge exchange, and reinforced CMS’s commitment to developing quality maritime education. The activity supports sustainable development by promoting international partnerships, strengthening higher education, and enhancing capacity building within the maritime sector of the Maldives.
