As part of its research visit to Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll, the Centre for Maritime Studies conducted research activities while engaging with students at G.Dh. Atoll Education Centre. The team collected valuable research data to support ongoing academic work and delivered awareness sessions on the global maritime industry, the history of the Maldives’ maritime sector, and educational opportunities available through CMS. The visit encouraged students to consider careers in the maritime industry while contributing to research that supports evidence-based decision-making and sustainable maritime development. The activity demonstrates CMS’s commitment to research, education, and community engagement by strengthening collaboration with schools and supporting capacity development across the atolls.
