Bachelor of Nursing students at the MNU Thinadhoo Campus successfully organised a health promotion event open to the general public, aimed at encouraging healthier communities through awareness, screening, and engagement.
The event primarily focused on stroke awareness and the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Participants benefited from stroke risk assessments, guidance on recognising the early warning signs of stroke, and the sharing of essential health information to support prevention and early action.
To promote overall well-being, the students also provided a range of basic health screenings, including blood sugar testing, blood pressure monitoring, body fat analysis, and BMI (Body Mass Index) calculations. Fun activities and simple games were organised to keep children engaged and to make the event welcoming for families.
The programme concluded with a lucky draw, where three participants were selected to receive prizes. Certificates of appreciation were also presented to sponsors in recognition of their generous support.
MNU commends the Bachelor of Nursing students for their initiative and commitment to community health and awareness.
