The Maldives National University (MNU) Library conducted an orientation session for academic staff of the Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS), aimed at enhancing awareness and effective use of the Library’s print and digital resources to support teaching, learning, and research.
The session provided an overview of the Library’s Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC), with guidance on searching the Library’s collections and identifying core and supplementary course texts, as well as other relevant resources available across MNU Libraries.
Participants were also introduced to the Library’s extensive range of electronic resources and online academic collections. The session included practical guidance on accessing and using e-books, scholarly journals, research articles, and other digital resources available through major academic platforms, including EBSCOhost, Research4Life, JSTOR, and Saruna, MNU’s digital repository.
The orientation highlighted how these resources can be effectively integrated into course development, academic teaching, and research, enabling academic staff to make greater use of reliable and high-quality scholarly information available through the University.
This orientation forms part of MNU Library’s ongoing efforts to strengthen awareness and effective use of its resources among the University’s academic community. Through such initiatives, the Library continues to support academic excellence and ensure that its collections and services are fully utilized in advancing the University’s teaching, learning, and research objectives.
