MNU Libraries supported Kalaafaanu School in conducting its Girl Guide Library Badge Programme from 22 September to 18 October 2026, providing 30 hours of practical learning and exposure to library operations in response to the school’s request.

The programme introduced the Girl Guides to various aspects of library work, including library orientation, shelving, OPAC searching, circulation services, accessioning, cataloguing, classification, processing, and book mending. Participants also gained experience in preparing library displays, promoting books, applying basic search strategies, and understanding donation, acquisition, and lost-item handling procedures.

Through these hands-on sessions, the participants had the opportunity to develop practical skills and gain a better understanding of how libraries operate and support learning.
