The Maldives National University (MNU) successfully conducted the “MNU InnovateHub” Powered by Dhiraagu Pitch Workshop on 23 Nov 2025 (Sunday) from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the MNU Central Administration Seminar Room, in collaboration with SparkHub. The workshop served as a key preparatory step for students participating in the upcoming “MNU InnovateHub” Powered by Dhiraagu Pitch Event, the first university-led incubator pitch in the Maldives, designed to showcase and foster innovation and entrepreneurial growth.
The session brought together students from various faculties who share a passion for innovation, entrepreneurship, and problem-solving. Throughout the workshop, participants were guided through the fundamentals of the entrepreneurial journey and the essential components of delivering a compelling pitch. Facilitators from SparkHub emphasized that a well-structured pitch can determine whether an idea stands out or goes unnoticed. Students learned techniques for expressing ideas concisely, articulating the problem their solution addresses, highlighting unique value propositions, and delivering pitches with confidence and clarity.
A series of interactive activities including group tasks, pitch drafting exercises, and practice rounds enabled participants to apply concepts in real time. These activities helped strengthen their communication skills and improve their ability to present ideas effectively.
In addition to presentation techniques, the workshop covered several core elements of a successful pitch, such as understanding the market, identifying customer needs, assessing solution feasibility, and highlighting potential impact. Students were encouraged to think critically about how to frame their innovations, communicate their relevance to stakeholders, and tailor their pitch according to different audiences, including investors, partners, and judges.
With the “MNU InnovateHub” Powered by Dhiraagu Pitch Event approaching, today’s workshop has helped ensure that students are better prepared and more confident as they finalize their pitch materials. The workshop has laid a strong foundation for what is expected to be an exciting and inspiring showcase of student-driven innovation at MNU.
