Minister Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed Highlights Purpose of Knowledge at MNU Graduation - session 2

The second session of the Maldives National University (MNU) graduation ceremony was held this afternoon, with Dr Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed, Minister of Islamic Affairs and Endowments, gracing the occasion as Chief Guest.

In his address, Dr. Shaheem extended warm congratulations to the graduating cohort and their families, acknowledging their perseverance and dedication in reaching this significant milestone. He also expressed his appreciation to the leadership of MNU, commending the institution’s continued progress in advancing higher education in the Maldives. He conveyed particular respect to the Chancellor, Dr Mahmood Shougee, and recognized the contributions of the Vice Chancellor, Dr Aishath Shehenaz Adam, for her committed service to the university.

He emphasized that the true purpose of education is reflection, critical thinking, and the pursuit of truth and justice. He encouraged graduates to remain diligent, start wherever opportunities arise, and build experience through perseverance and hard work.

He also highlighted the importance of kindness and compassion, noting that knowledge must be guided by strong ethical values. Urging graduates to stay connected to the university and remain hopeful in the face of challenges, he reminded them that difficulties are temporary and that perseverance, faith, and optimism are key to success.
