The Department of Social Sciences, Faculty of Arts, Maldives National University (MNU) participated in SSTV’s Sai Gadi programme on 9 July 2025 as part of its efforts to promote awareness of academic opportunities and their relevance to future careers.

Representing MNU, Hawwa Wajudha and Fathimath Nashfa, lecturers from the Department of Social Sciences, shared information about the department’s academic programmes, with particular emphasis on pathways in Library and Information Science. The engagement provided prospective students and the wider community with an opportunity to learn more about available programmes, study pathways, and potential career opportunities in the field.

The media outreach initiative helped make information about higher education opportunities more accessible to a wider audience while strengthening engagement between the university and the community. By highlighting the importance and career relevance of Library and Information Science education, the initiative also contributed to encouraging future learners to explore opportunities in the information services sector.

Through initiatives such as this, the Department of Social Sciences continues to support informed decision-making among prospective students and promote greater awareness of higher education and career pathways.
