Senior Lecturer Mohamed Shameem Adam delivered Study Skills and Career Guidance Sessions for students of GDh. Nadella School on 29 May 2025. The sessions aimed to strengthen students’ academic performance by developing effective study habits and providing practical guidance to support their educational and career development.
The study skills sessions focused on effective study strategies, time management, goal setting, note-taking, examination preparation, and independent learning. Students were encouraged to develop positive learning habits, strengthen critical thinking, build self-confidence, and adopt approaches that support academic achievement and lifelong learning.
The career guidance component provided students with an opportunity to explore their interests, strengths, educational pathways, and future career opportunities. Through this guidance, students were encouraged to better understand their options and make informed decisions about their future academic and professional pathways.
The initiative contributes to Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4): Quality Education by promoting inclusive and equitable learning opportunities and strengthening students’ academic, personal, and career development skills. Supporting students with effective learning strategies and career guidance contributes to a more comprehensive educational experience.
The programme also supports SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth by equipping students with knowledge, competencies, career awareness, and independent learning skills that can support future employment, further education, and lifelong professional development.
Furthermore, the initiative aligns with SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals by strengthening collaboration between higher education institutions and schools. Such engagement facilitates knowledge sharing and enables academic expertise to contribute to student learning, development, and career readiness.
Through these sessions, Senior Lecturer Mohamed Shameem Adam contributed to academic development, career awareness, critical thinking, and lifelong learning, supporting students in preparing for their future educational and professional opportunities while advancing the Sustainable Development Goals.
