Students enrolled in the Diploma in Information & Library Sciences course offered by the Faculty of Arts completed their industry placement at MNU Library from 11 to 15 October 2026.
The five-day placement, comprising 30 hours of practical training, provided students with an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in an academic library environment and apply the knowledge acquired through their academic studies to professional practice.
During the placement, students gained practical exposure to library operations and information services, developing a deeper understanding of the role of academic libraries in supporting teaching, learning, and research. The experience also contributed to their understanding of professional practices and responsibilities in the field of library and information sciences.
The industry placement forms an important part of students’ academic and professional development, enabling them to strengthen their practical competencies and gain valuable insight into the operational environment of a university library.
MNU Library appreciates the opportunity to contribute to the practical learning and professional development of students pursuing studies in library and information sciences.
