The Centre for Educational Technology and Excellence (CETE) at The Maldives National University (MNU) officially opened the EduTech Symposium 2025 on 17 September 2025, with Dr. Abdulla Nazeer, Minister of State for Higher Education, Labour and Skills Development, attending as the Guest of Honour.

Held under the theme “Leveraging Education through the Advancement of Technology,” the symposium brought together educators, researchers, and technology professionals to share knowledge and explore innovative approaches to education.

The symposium welcomed around 200 invitees from government ministries, higher education institutions, schools, and educational organisations across the Maldives, alongside MNU staff, local and international speakers, presenters, educators, and teachers.

The symposium provided a platform for professional networking, knowledge exchange, and collaboration among education stakeholders at national and international levels. It encouraged the sharing of innovative educational practices, strengthened awareness of technology-enhanced teaching and learning, and created opportunities to explore how emerging technologies can enrich educational experiences. By bringing together diverse perspectives and expertise, the event supported the development of a more innovative, collaborative, and digitally enabled education sector in the Maldives.

The event aligned with SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, promoting technology-enhanced learning, innovation, and collaboration in education.
