The Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) at The Maldives National University (MNU) joined the health fair at the MyHulhumalé Festival on 8 May 2025. At a public awareness stall, FHS staff shared information on healthy lifestyles and prevention of noncommunicable diseases.
The festival, organised by Housing Development Corporation, enabled the Faculty to engage people outside the classroom and make preventive health messages available in a community setting. Visitors responded positively to the accessible information,
Community festivals provide an opportunity to meet people in familiar spaces and discuss achievable steps toward better health.
By taking preventive health education into a community festival, the activity relates to SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities).
