The Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) actively participated in MNU’s Fahi Sihhath healthy lifestyle awareness initiatives in 2025, contributing to efforts to promote health, wellbeing and sustainable healthy practices across the university and wider community.
FHS students and staff participated in the launch of the Fahi Sihhath campaign on 15 February 2025. The university-wide initiative aims to encourage healthier lifestyle choices and strengthen awareness of wellbeing and preventive health among members of the MNU community.
FHS representatives Mariyam Neerish, Zeenath Shakir, Aminath Samha and Fathimath Maeesha took part in the campaign activities, supporting efforts to encourage greater engagement in health and wellbeing initiatives among students and staff.
FHS continued its engagement through participation in the Fahi Sihhath Fair 2025 on 25 April 2025. Organised by MNU in collaboration with UNICEF and WHO, the fair brought together university and health-sector partners to promote public awareness and engagement around health and wellbeing.
The event was inaugurated by First Lady Madam Sajidha Mohamed and marked World Health Day under the theme “New Beginnings, Hopeful Futures.” FHS representatives again participated in the initiative, contributing to the broader university effort to promote health education, preventive practices and healthier communities.
Through its involvement in both events, FHS supported opportunities for students, staff and members of the wider community to engage with health promotion and wellbeing activities. The initiatives also strengthened collaboration between MNU and key health-sector partners, demonstrating the value of coordinated approaches to promoting healthier lifestyles and preventive health practices.
FHS’s participation contributed to SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) by supporting health promotion and preventive health awareness, SDG 4 (Quality Education) through engagement in health-focused learning and awareness activities, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through collaboration between MNU, UNICEF, WHO, and other stakeholders.
