The Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) contributed to the Dhulhaheyo Sihhath national campaign in February 2025, supporting efforts to promote healthy lifestyles and raise awareness of the prevention of non-communicable diseases (NCDs).
As part of the campaign, public awareness stalls were established to provide health education and encourage community members to adopt healthier lifestyle practices. The initiative provided an opportunity to share information on NCD prevention and the importance of making informed choices that support long-term health and wellbeing.
FHS participation, coordinated by Mariyam Neerish, contributed to broader national health promotion efforts by supporting public engagement and awareness around healthy living and preventive health practices.
The campaign also strengthened collaboration between Maldives National University and government-sector partners, demonstrating the value of coordinated approaches to health education and NCD prevention. Through initiatives such as Dhulhaheyo Sihhath, FHS continues to contribute its academic and professional expertise to community-focused health promotion.
The initiative contributed to SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) by promoting NCD prevention, healthy lifestyles and preventive health practices, and to SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through collaboration with government-sector partners.
