During the research visit to Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll, the CMS team met with local fishermen to understand current challenges, discuss training needs, and gather valuable industry perspectives. The consultation also highlighted the achievements of CMS graduates working within the fisheries sector, demonstrating the practical impact of maritime education. Information collected during the meeting will contribute to future research and curriculum enhancement while strengthening collaboration between academia and industry. The activity promoted sustainable fisheries, lifelong learning, and stakeholder engagement to support the continued development of the Maldives’ maritime and fisheries sectors.
