4 October 2026

The Maldives National University (MNU) Library welcomed Faruha Adnan, Ismail Maisaan Ashraf, and Fathimath Lamha Ahmed as interns, marking an important step towards strengthening Library services and enhancing support for the MNU community.

The addition of the interns will help support the Library’s daily operations by providing more attentive customer service, addressing staffing needs, and contributing to the delivery of essential Library services. Their contributions are also expected to assist the Library in extending its opening hours in response to students’ requests for longer access to Library facilities and resources.

As part of their internship, Faruha Adnan, Ismail Maisaan Ashraf, and Fathimath Lamha Ahmed will gain practical knowledge and hands-on experience in Library services and operations while contributing to the Library’s commitment to delivering high-quality services to the MNU community. The internship provides valuable opportunities for workplace learning, professional skills development, and preparation for future employment.

The initiative supports quality education and lifelong learning by providing practical opportunities for interns to develop knowledge and professional competencies. It also promotes decent work and skills development by giving young people meaningful exposure to a professional working environment. By strengthening Library capacity and improving access to educational facilities and resources, the initiative further contributes to the development of effective learning infrastructure and supports collaboration between education and workplace learning.
