As part of the celebrations of Medical Laboratory Professionals Week, a series of social media awareness posts and short educational videos were shared across different social media platorms to increase public awareness of laboratory services and their contribution to healthcare.
One of the videos demonstrated the importance of proper hand hygiene by comparing bacterial growth on washed and unwashed hands. Another video showed the processing of a urine sample which gives ab isight on the procedures involved in specimen handling and analysis and how the results are determined.

The social media awareness campaign successfully reached the wider public gauging over 14,479 views. The campaign also promoted health literacy by encouraging the public to adopt healthier practices while fostering greater recognition of the role of laboratory professionals in the healthcare system.
