Students in National Certificate III in Phlebotomy course was posted in hospital to gain clinical experince. Total 7 students were enrolled in Male’ campus, 5 of them were posted to IGMH for the clinical experience and 2 were posted to Hulhumale’ Hospital. Additionally 13 students were enrolled in Hithadhoo Campus and they were posted to Addu Equitorial Hospital (AEH) for the clinical posting. During the clinical placement, the students gained valuable experience in phlebotomy procedure and other essential areas including specimen reception, handling, transport and infection prevention and control measures.

The clinical placement allowed the students to gain valuable hand on practice on the procedures they learnt. It helped to bridge the classroom learning with professional practice strengthening their skills. It also strengthened the partnership between MNU and the relevant hospitals.
