The Refresher and Updating course in Proficiency in Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting (PFPFF) for Batch 59 was conducted to reinforce and update essential firefighting knowledge and practical skills among trainees. The practical session focused on fire risk awareness, correct use of firefighting equipment, emergency response procedures, and coordinated action during onboard fire incidents. Through hands-on drills and instructor-led demonstrations, participants strengthened their ability to respond effectively and safely to fire emergencies at sea. The training emphasized maintaining competency in line with STCW requirements and ensuring continuous professional development for seafarers. Trainees actively engaged in simulated fire scenarios, demonstrating improved confidence, teamwork, and situational awareness. This activity plays a vital role in strengthening maritime safety culture and reducing risks associated with fire incidents onboard vessels.
