The successful completion ceremony of NIYAMI Course 1 was held on 28 August 2025 at Dhoonidhoo, marking an important milestone in maritime safety and security training conducted in collaboration with the Maldives Police Service. A total of 10 officers successfully completed the course, demonstrating commitment to enhancing maritime operational competence. The ceremony was attended by Assistant Commissioner of Police Yoonus Sobah as Chief Guest, along with Captain Mohamed Zaid, Head of the Centre for Maritime Studies, lecturers, and Heads of Marine Police. The event also included a formal presentation of appreciation to CMS in recognition of its contribution to officer training and capacity building. The programme highlights the strong partnership between CMS and national law enforcement in strengthening maritime safety, security, and enforcement capabilities. It also reflects continuous efforts to build professional capacity within maritime policing, contributing to safer waters and improved institutional collaboration in the Maldives.
