A delegation from the United States Embassy in the Maldives and the Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) of the United States of America visited the Faculty of Maritime Studies (FMS), The Maldives National University, on 9 September 2026.

The delegation was led by Ms. Alice Chu, Deputy Chief of Mission at the United States Embassy in the Maldives, and Ms. Laura DiBella, Chairman of the Federal Maritime Commission.

The visit provided an opportunity to introduce the respective institutions, exchange information on areas of mutual interest, and explore opportunities for prospective cooperation in the maritime sector.

Through institutional dialogue and knowledge sharing, the visit aligns with SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals, reflecting engagement in international cooperation and the exploration of future collaboration.
