Male’, 18 October 2025 – The Faculty of Arts at the Maldives National University has taken the initiative to conduct special activities on October 18th of this year to commemorate Dhivehi Language Day. On this notable day, more than 160 students participated in the events, which included 8 different types of competitions.

The Maldives National University proudly celebrated “Dhivehi Day 2025”, joyfully honouring our mother tongue, culture, and national heritage. The day’s activities included creative exhibitions, special stalls showcasing traditional items, and projects that stimulated student interest.

All these activities helped to demonstrate the richness of the Dhivehi language and the enduring spirit embedded in the Maldivian way of life. Such events are crucial in fostering a sense of Maldivian identity and love for the language in the hearts of young people.
