The Embassy of Italy in the Maldives, in collaboration with The Maldives National University (MNU), the Conservatorio of Palermo, the Conservatorio of Sassari and the management by the Conservatorio of Trapani, will host a special cultural event titled “The Fragility and Beauty of Marine Ecosystems.”

The official ceremony will take place on Saturday, 14 February 2026, from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM at the MNU A Block Auditorium, followed by a public soundscape presentation on Sunday, 15 February 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at MNU Central Administration, A-Block Auditorium.

This international initiative brings together conservatories and universities from Southern Italy in collaboration with MNU to promote cultural heritage through digital innovation and environmental awareness. The soundscape composition offers an immersive musical journey reflecting the delicate balance and extraordinary beauty of marine ecosystems an issue of profound importance to the Maldives.

The event highlights the strong cultural partnership between Italy and the Maldives and reinforces shared commitments to sustainability, education, and artistic exchange.
