The Maldives National University (College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences), in collaboration with the Australian High Commission, is hosting a public lecture and film screening on 30 March 2026 at the B-block Auditorium, MNU Central.

The lecture, titled “Scaling coral reef restoration and adaptation,” will be delivered by Christopher Doropoulos, a research scientist from CSIRO, focusing on coral reef ecology, restoration methods, and larval seeding.

After the lecture and a networking tea session, there will be a screening of the film Blueback, which tells the story of a girl who befriends a fish and becomes an advocate for protecting Australia’s coral reefs.

The event aims to raise awareness about coral reef conservation and restoration
