A session on conducting research was held for the staff of Dr. Abdul Samad Memorial Hospital on 20 November 2025. The session was facilitated by Dr. Asiya Ibrahim, Dean of the School of Nursing, Maldives National University.
During the session, Dr. Asiya introduced key concepts of health research, including research design, ethical considerations, and the importance of evidence-based practice in improving patient care. She also highlighted how hospital staff can contribute to research initiatives and collaborate with academic institutions to strengthen the quality of healthcare services.
The session formed part of ongoing efforts to build research capacity among healthcare professionals and to foster a culture of inquiry and continuous improvement within Dr. Abdul Samad Memorial Hospital.
